Autumn at Biltmore Estate is a festive season as the grape harvest is brought to the winery, brilliant chrysanthemums dot the Walled Garden and guests are welcomed to Biltmore House to join in special activities with music, dancing, a craft fair, children’s events and more. During Michaelmas: An English Harvest Fair, visitors celebrate the harvest with a mix of Old English, Southern Appalachian and late Victorian customs. The annual grape harvest at the Winery is celebrated with live jazz, special wine seminars, cooking demonstrations and children’s activities during Jazz Harvest Weekends. Performances include Chicago Six, Sept. 29-30; Russ Martin Ensemble, Oct. 6-7; E.G. Knight Band, Oct. 13-14; Charged Particles, Oct. 20-21; and Djazz Band, Oct. 27-28.
