Pucker up in Shady Valley, TN, at the
Cranberry Festival |
Autumns leaves, a unique cranberry bog and
the mountains make a picture-perfect setting for the seventh annual Cranberry Festival in
Shady Valley, Tennessee, October 8-10.
While cranberries are no longer harvested, the areas natural bog still supports a
few boreal cranberry plants, thus inspiring the Cranberry Festival. It is held on the five
acres that surround the local 60-year-old Shady Valley Elementary School, with its unique
rock structure.
Friday evening is a bean supper followed by an auction. Saturday, October 10, offers a
full day of activities topped off by a special anniversary concert by Jett Williams, live
at the Bristol Paramount.
