Cherokee,
NC. “Unto These
Hills”, the Cherokee outdoor drama, now in its 56th summer season,
with a cast of 130, relates the story of the struggle, survival and
ultimate victory of the Cherokee people.
Their story is told in a powerful way, some of which is acted
out by the descendants of Tsali, who sacrificed his life so that
others of his people could remain in the Great Smokies.
Of this year’s cast there are five Cherokee members of the
Eastern Band playing
speaking roles.
In this its
56th year, this powerful drama will continue to thrill all who come
to Mountainside Theatre to witness a performance.
Performance time is 8:30 p.m. and there is pre-show
entertainment at 7:45 p.m. The Drama will play through August 21st this year.
