Virginia Highlands Festival 2007

A juried arts and crafts show is one of the highlights of this 58-year old festival held annually the first two weeks of August in Historic Abingdon. More than 100 exhibitors display their crafts in tents dotting the picturesque Barter Green. Other attractions during this extraordinary 16-day festival include antiques, art and photography exhibits, drama, music, dance, storytelling, a gardening symposium, creative writing workshops, fine foods and wine-tasting, nature walks, historical walking tours and lectures, hot air ballooning, youth events, and much more. The festival draws over 200,000 visitors and is recognized as one of the Top 100 Events in North America by the American Bus Association and one of the Top 20 Events in the Southeast.
