Asheville, NCs Coburn Museum helps everyone catch Gold Fever! |
See naturally occuring crystalline gold from the world famous collection of the Harvard Mineralogical Museum, now through December 31 at the Coburn Gem & Mineral Museum. The exhibit includes gold from all of the worlds major gold rushes and the largest remaining gold specimen from South Carolina, which is twice the size of a mans fist.
On May 10, the whole family will enjoy the Panning for Gold workshop to learn the techniques that miners used during North Carolinas Gold Rush. Try your hand at panning for gold. Gold Fever! is a program for children, also on May 10, that includes stories about children and gold, and how to tell real gold from fools gold.
