April's Embrace
by Robert A. Tino
The sun-striped bank of a river is
an irresistible place to spend an April afternoon. Stroll down to the river in this new
spring release from Robert A. Tino, and take in the pristine sights and smells of the
season, the familiar scent of new grass and the colorbursts of magenta blossoms against a
lavender-blue sky, all fresh experiences as they appear from winter's hiatus.
The senses may forget from season to season, but the heart remembers
clearly the splendor. Here on the east prong of the Pigeon River, Robert Tino catches the
late afternoon light casting a golden spell over the river as it disappears around the
bend.
"The way the sunlight reflects off the smooth surface of the water,
the near bank and the meadow dictates a warmer palette than the one I used in spring
paintings last year. There you'll find intense purples and vivid blue-greens. Here in
April's Embrace is a different interpretation of spring's return to the mountains with a
softer mood in golden tones," says the artist.
