Biltmore Estate swings with jazz and more this summer

The Biltmore Estate Winery opens its be Summer Holiday Weekend series with Alfresco Jazz Weekend, May 22-24.

Live jazz begins in the Courtyard at 2:30 p.m. all three days, featuring the Bobby Sax Band. Saturday and Sunday events include special appearances of Chef Jack McDavid, renowned host of Food TV’s program Grillin & Chillin.

There will be "Meet the Winemaker" tours of the Biltmore Winery production area on Saturday at 11:30, food and wine seminars, barrel tastings drawn directly from Biltmore Estate Winery’s barrels, and a Grape Stomp beginning at 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday for adults and children.

Just for the youngsters, extra fun begins at 2:30 both days, with cork sculpture and "Paint What You Hear" games.

This is the first in a series of three musical summer weekends. Red, White and Blues will be the festive musical theme Independence Day weekend, July 3-5. Finally, Wonderful Winery Weekend will complete the series on Labor Day weekend, September 5-7.

These celebrations feature live musical performances in the courtyard, barrel tastings, food and wine seminars, production tours and activities for children.

All guests with a general admission ticket to Biltmore Estate may attend at no extra charge.
