River Waltz
by Robert A. Tino

Early April rains in the Smokies can swell mountain streams overnight. The swirling play of the river, as it surges through its narrow channel, looks for all the world like a water-dance, madly waltzing through the greening ballroom of the forest floor.

Robert A. Tino’s newest limited edition, River Waltz, invites you to witness this annual gala at the Middle Prong of the Little River. In this early spring Tino release, the river and the rock perform their contra-dance of measured magic against the backdrop of a quickly passing mid-day rainstorm. Pale cream and magenta-leafed trees bend at the waist and bow to their partner across the bank as lacy shirts of frothy whitewater spill over the smooth-faced stones and whirl across an ancient river floor.

"In River Waltz, the angle from whihc I painted was nearly 24 feet up from the river bed. From that perspective, you stare down into whirling eddies as the current takes a sharp bend away to the right just as it drops over a waterfall," recalls the artist.

950 Limited Edition prints of River Waltz, 12" x 26.5" overall, are now available, $90 plus $9 postage and handling. (TN residents add 8.5% sales tax.) There are also 50 Artist Proofs for $180 each. To order, call Robert A. Tino Gallery at (423) 453-7315 or visit the Gallery at 812 Old Douglas Dam Road, Sevierville, TN 37876 (Hwy. 66 at Buddy’s Barbeque).
