The 2005 Radford Highlanders Festival will be
an event that you will not want to miss. It’s their 10-year
anniversary so you can be sure the weekend will be one to
remember.
Festival weekend gets an early start on Friday,
October 7, 2005. Downtown businesses will feature special events
throughout the day. Evening activities include a traditional
Scottish Ceilidh. The public is invited to come to the downtown area
and share in the spirited celebration. Admission is free. To learn
more, call Main Street Radford at 731-3656. |
Traditional amateur heavy athletics are held
throughout the day on Moffett Field. The Radford Highlanders Festival has
become a regular stop for those competitors who travel the game circuit.
You’ll want to come early on festival morning to get a good seat in the
bleachers!
Jeff Wampler was a crowd favorite in 2004 and he’ll be back
again this year. They will also welcome back The Sterling Swordplayers,
another crowd pleaser. Border collies will be working hard for the crowd
on festival day. You will definitely want to venture over to Heth Lawn and
check out the herding demonstrations.
